Levi Strauss & Co. has set new targets for 2025 to help keep the rise in global temperatures below the threshold of 2 °C set by the Paris Agreement. By 2025 the company is set to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 40% in its global supply chain, and by 90% in its owned and operated facilities by shifting to 100% onsite, renewable electricity.
Developed in line with the Science Based Targets initiative, the targets provide concrete guidance for their strategy for responding to climate change. To achieve this Levi Strauss & Co. is partnering with its manufactures and the International Finance Corporation to fund investments in energy efficiency initiatives and renewables at their manufacturing facilities.
