Global Fashion Agenda is delighted to announce that P4G, Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 Initiative, has selected us as winner of a P4G State-of-the-Art Partnership award recognising our 2020 Circular Fashion System Commitment. The State-of-the-Art Partnerships, chosen in a global competition, recognise the world’s most innovative and successful public-private partnerships driving green growth and climate action.
Since its launch at the Copenhagen Fashion Summit 2017, 90 companies, representing 12.5% of the global fashion market, have signed the 2020 Circular Fashion System Commitment and committed to focus on four key areas of circular fashion: design, collection, reuse and recycling. As of June 2019, participating companies have collected two million pieces and 20,000 tonnes of used textiles and footwear and have trained more than 2,500 employees on circular design principles.
Senior Business Manager of GFA, Tommy Petersen attended the award ceremony yesterday in New York along with representatives from the four other award winning partnerships being honoured. Tommy presented the 2020 commitment to an audience of high-level government and corporate attendees.
